| March
of Dimes `Ride to Save Babies' Fundraiser Gets Online
Facelift Thanks to Interland [10th September
2003]
ATLANTA,
Sep 10, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The March of Dimes Georgia
Chapter has re-launched "Ride to Save Babies"
online (www.marchofdimesride.org), a Web site for bikers
dedicated to saving babies' lives. The site was gratuitously
redesigned and is being hosted by Atlanta-based Interland
(INLD) , a leading provider of Web hosting and online
services for small and medium-sized businesses. Interland's
gift provides the Atlanta RIDE with solutions to help
reach its fundraising goals, attract and retain volunteers,
and showcase the latest events and promotions online.
Ride
to Save Babies is one of the largest motorcycle charity
fundraising events in the nation. Unlike most motorcycle
charity events, in Georgia, 100 percent of rider donations
directly benefit the Georgia Newborn Metabolic Screening
Project, a program that screens newborns for genetic
disorders and can make the difference in saving a baby's
life and preventing infant mortality.
"Our
support of the March of Dimes, in the form of professional
Web development and services, reflects our commitment
to finding progressive and meaningful ways to make a
difference in the communities we serve," said Joel
Kocher, chairman and CEO of Interland. "As a corporate
citizen in Georgia, and nationwide, Interland is especially
proud to support the March of Dimes in its effort to
preserve the health and lives of babies."
Visitors
to the Atlanta "Ride to Save Babies" Web site
will benefit from the latest and greatest fundraising
info, including:
--
events, promotions and how to win hot prizes;
-- "point-to-point" directions to all Ride
events;
-- downloadable registration forms as well as online
pre-registration and volunteer registration;
-- entertaining photos of previous Ride events; and,
-- much more!
"We are extremely pleased with the Interland Design
Services team's investment of creativity and service
to re-launch the RIDE Web site," said Greg Becker,
co-Chair, Ride to Save Babies (Atlanta). "Our newly
designed Web site is attractive, informative, and we're
confident that it will be the ultimate tool for bikers
and volunteers who support us in our fundraising efforts.
The
March of Dimes Georgia Chapter aims to raise more than
$300,000 as part of its 12th Annual Ride to Save Babies
fundraiser scheduled for October 3-5, 2003. Funds will
go toward parent and provider education, expansion of
the newborn screening tests and staffing for the initiative.
Sponsorships underwrite the expenses of the event. In
2002, Ride to Save Babies raised $2.4 million nationwide.
