Networks Acquires HighSpeed Communications Operations
In Washington and Oregon [1st October 2003]
SPOKANE, Wash., Oct 1, 2003 /PRNewswire
via COMTEX/ -- OneEighty Networks, a competitive local
exchange carrier (CLEC) headquartered in Spokane, Wash.,
today announced the acquisition of HighSpeed Communications,
L.L.C., a CLEC based in Walla Walla, Washington. HighSpeed
Communications Inc. is owned by a series of companies
including BTA Associates, a Colorado LLC; Cellular Pioneer
Kyle Mussman; and XO Communications. Under the agreement,
OneEighty Networks agreed to assume HighSpeed Communications
operations in Washington and Oregon. OneEighty Networks
also gained access to its licensed wireless spectrum
in Oregon, Hawaii, Nevada, Central California, and Washington.
Terms of the agreement were not released.
Acquisition by OneEighty Networks of
HighSpeed's broadband Internet, private line, Web hosting
and dial-up services was finalized September 30, 2003.
The transaction should result in a seamless transition
to HighSpeed customers. No significant job losses are
planned.
