Michael Krauss Joins Hostway Corp. as Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Planning [3rd November 2003]

CHICAGO, Nov 3, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Web-hosting leader Hostway Corp., today announced the appointment of Michael C. Krauss, 49, as senior vice president of sales, marketing and planning.

Krauss, vice chairman of Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley's Council of Technology Advisors, joined Hostway from Chicago-based consulting firm Diamond Cluster International, where he was partner and chief marketing officer and where he recently served as a Diamond Fellow.

Krauss has an extensive background in packaged goods and technology marketing. His clients have included such leading international companies as Ameritech, Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), AT&T, Fidelity Investments, Motorola, U. S. West (now Qwest) and Xerox. While at the Keebler Company, he led the effort to launch Chips Deluxe the nation's number 2 chocolate chip cookie.

Krauss was a principal with OmniTech Consulting Group where he led the firm's marketing and strategy division until the firm's sale to DiamondCluster in April, 1999. Krauss previously was founding worldwide director of marketing and communications at Andersen Consulting where he was responsible for the strategic marketing, communications, public relations and branding efforts that launched the Andersen Consulting brand worldwide.

Krauss is the technology-marketing columnist for Marketing News, the official publication of the American Marketing Association, covering the impact and implications of technology on the marketing profession. He also is a frequent speaker and presenter on marketing and technology topics. Krauss has served on the academic faculty of the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business, and lectured in the University's innovative new product and service development laboratory. He holds a bachelor's degree and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Chicago. He also holds a CPA certificate in Illinois.

Krauss resides in Highland Park, Illinois, with his wife, Carol Sulkes, and their three children.
