TX (December 23, 2003) - C I Host, which led the industry
when it launched its first wireless Web site in 2001,
continues to stay ahead of the pack with version 2.0
- an upgraded Mobile Web Site that allows consumers
to purchase all its services from any wireless Internet
device.
New
features allow customers to check the status of an order,
get their email from any C I Host domain, monitor C
I Host's real-time network status, place orders for
C I Host services and products, or read the latest news
from C I Host, from any cell phone or PDA.
"Customers
can even log in and open a support trouble ticket to
alert us to a problem while they are en route and away
from a computer," said Christopher Faulkner, CEO
of C I Host. "That way, we can start working on
the problem right away and have it fixed by the time
they get to the office."
Wireless
communication is rapidly expanding. The mobile workforce
is expected to grow to 55.4 million in 2004 from 39.2
million in 2000, according to IDC, a research firm.
To
meet the increasing demand, Wi-Fi hot spots are multiplying
across the country. This week, for example, T-Mobile
USA announced a deal to allow iPass corporate users
to connect to its 4,000 hot spots and MCI announced
it would triple its footprint of Wi-Fi access points
through a partnership with Boingo Wireless to 2,600
by March and 3,000 by the end of the year.
"Clearly,
mCommerce is here and growing and we want to make sure
our customers can conduct business with C I Host from
