Lift-off
a go for siteRocket, XoverZero’s new Web Site
Builder and Management Tool [1st December 2003]
Colorado Springs, CO (December 1, 2003)
— XoverZero Web Technologies announces the public
availability of siteRocket, an easy to use website construction
and management tool aimed at the average user as well
as the more experienced website developer. siteRocket
is the first in a series of public web application power
tools offered by the company and now available to the
general public.
"Over the years we have seen and
used many web-based site creation tools that can create
some good websites. The problem is, they don't do anything
more. With siteRocket we feel we've crossed that barrier,
giving people control without the complexities."
said Brian McGuire, lead developer of siteRocket.
siteRocket is a web-based site construction
tool that utilizes the same active features professional
developers use with language-based programs such as
ASP, ColdFusion, Perl, PHP. When creating a website
using siteRocket, users can create unique and dynamic
pages within the site without knowing how to program
in the language used in making the pages.
"What siteRocket manages to do
is take the database driven features of these languages
and put it in the hands of the average user," explains
Brian. "siteRocket makes your website work like
it was built using
one of the custom languages, but without all the complexities."
Because siteRocket utilizes FTP, the
most common method for Internet file transfer, it provides
the flexibility for users to decide where they want
their site to be hosted. The large number of hosting
companies out there includes FTP access by default,
which is really the only requirement of siteRocket.
While siteRocket also provides a range
of templates to choose from, we can also custom design
a template to suit. Once the web site is launched, the
site creator, no one else, manages all pages. This gives
absolute control of the site to the user, not the company.
siteRocket also allows multiple users to manage the
site providing limited access to specific pages or the
entire site.
Developed at XoverZero's Denver-based
Digital Propulsion Laboratories, cost for siteRocket
ranges from $0.50 cents to $1 per page and no initiation
fees. siteRocket plans start at $4.95 per month.
