Now Accepts 'Online' Checks, Becomes First Registrar
to Offer Online Check Payment Option [6th August
2003]
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Aug. 6, 2003 – GoDaddy.com,
the No. 1 registrar of net new
domains, announced today that customers can now elect
to pay for its products and
services with “online” checks instead of
a credit card, becoming the first registrar to offer
an online check payment option. The new, “Pay
by Check” option enables customers to write online
checks which result in deducting the cost of their GoDaddy.com
purchase, i.e., domain registration, directly from their
checking account.
“Pay by Check makes it easy for clients who choose
not to pay with credit cards or who don’t have
one yet, but are interested in registering a domain
and purchasing related services, ” said Bob Parsons,
GoDaddy.com president and founder. “As the only
registrar that offers Pay by Check, we are helping an
untapped market pay online for the domain-related products
and services they need.”
Listening to requests from existing customers, as well
as from potential customers who didn’t have a
credit card or didn’t want to use their credit
card for online purchasing, GoDaddy.com built Pay by
Check into its online purchasing process in addition
to its standard payment process which is largely by
credit card. The new online check payment process includes
easy-to-follow instructions on how to use Pay by Check
and requires the customer to provide additional identification
information.
Resellers of WildWestDomains.com, sister company of
GoDaddy.com, also can now
offer the new Pay by Check payment option to their customers.
