Host Color adds SSH to Hosting Software
[January 31, 2005]
Host
Color (hostcolor.com)
has announced it has added SSH access to its Mega Pack
hosting plan. Last month the hosting provider enabled
personalized Secure Shell access as a part of its hosting
software – Next Color. Using Secure Shell site
administrators can connect directly to the server and
manipulate their files. The company now also offers
crontab entries as a part of the Mega service. Crontab
enables webmasters to automate the maintenance of their
sites with a set of scripts that execute at a given
time. To mark the introduction of the new services the
company has also introduced a promotion of the Mega
and Max plans – with each new account signed up
the customer gets 2 free months of hosting.
Host
Color has established its position as a budget hosting
provider. The company is also aiming at the business
class market. This has become possible with the upgrades
of its servers and network and the introduction of the
new Next Color control panel (see nextcolor.com). It
is stable, scalable and modular.
“We
will offer a new type of business service which will
attract customers not only with higher capacity but
also by blending unique features - SSH access, custom
Perl and Python scripts to name a few. We will also
consider including JSP and Servlets capabilities. To
achieve all this we will first listen carefully to our
customer’s needs.” says Vesellin Drangajov
Executive Director of Host Color. The company aims to
attract corporate clients by offering accessible plans,
uncompromising quality and innovative to hosting features.
By
the end of February the company will introduce to the
market the new type of business hosting. Meanwhile by
now all customers’ accounts have been moved to
our new data center in South Bend. Indiana.
