Launches Remote Backup Solution For Improved Business

Colo., Oct 19, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Verio, a subsidiary

of its Remote Backup managed storage solution for small
to medium businesses and larger enterprise customers
with critical data stored at a main business, remote
office or branch location. The solution creates a backup
of a company's critical data by automatically storing
it in a Verio Premier Data Center, thus improving data
availability while reducing data recovery costs.
Verio's Remote Backup provides network-based
remote data protection and recovery for servers and
PCs located at the customer premise. The fully-automated
service is initiated with a fast and easy client/agent
setup, and includes all additional required hardware
and software, as well as 24x7 management and staffing.
In the event of a network failure due to natural disasters,
or other events, such as simple hard disk drive failure,
data corruption, virus infections or accidental deletion,
the solution provides an efficient information recovery
process, reducing the time and expense required to backup
servers, and freeing valuable IT resources for businesses.
Remote Backup simplifies and speeds
backup and recovery for IT administrators and contains
the costs of a company's backup planning with a fully-managed
range of services. Web-initiated restores enable IT
administrators to view backups as they occur. A management
portal allows customers to view key metrics about the
service's performance and manage different aspects of
the service online, including support requests. Optional
long-term data retention services are also available
as a part of this service.
Miami-based Biscayne Aquaculture, a
Verio customer, was in danger of being impacted by several
separate major hurricanes this season alone. "As
