Logical
Net Begins Internet Service Program With Automatic Charitable
Donations [February 10, 2004]
ALBANY, N.Y., Feb 10, 2004 /PRNewswire
via COMTEX/ -- Logical Net Inc., one of the largest
Internet service providers in the Northeast, announced
today its new Internet service program that automatically
donates $4 from each user's monthly fee to a designated
charitable organization. A local Chamber of Commerce
and Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region have
signed on to the service and will market the service
to their members and communities.
The new program offers customers dial-up
Internet service via 7,000 local numbers across the
country, and Web hosting, for $19.95 per month. Each
customer can choose to donate $4.00 of the monthly fee
to any non-profit community organization participating
in the Logical Net program.
The Guilderland Chamber of Commerce
allows consumers to choose to make monthly donations
to The Guilderland YMCA, Hope House or Community Care
Givers. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Albany, which provides
and supports mentors for young children, hopes to create
a funding stream through Logical Net's program.
"This new program provides quality,
reliable Internet service while simultaneously helping
non-profit organizations, all in one easy monthly payment,"
said Tush Nikollaj, Logical Net's CEO. "With more
than 20,000 current Internet customers, we can take
on the entire nation without flinching."
Regardless of which organization an
Internet user chooses to support, customers will have
access to unlimited online time, free Web space for
a personal Web site, up to five e-mail accounts, over
7,000 dial-up access numbers across the United States,
local customer service support and filtering tools for
family use.
"Donations to charity have declined
in recent years," said James Costanzo, Logical
Net's chief financial officer. "So many of their
members and supporters already have Internet access.
These people can now switch to Logical Net and receive
quality Internet service while donating to their favorite
charity."
"The Guilderland YMCA, Hope House
and Community Care Givers are just several of our great
members that each do a great deal to help our neighborhoods,"
said Jane Schramm, Guilderland Chamber of Commerce's
Executive Director. "With Logical Net's new program,
we're helping people invest in the development of our
local community."
"This really is a win-win situation
for everyone involved," said Angela Dixon, Big
Brother Big Sister's Capital Region Executive Director.
"We get funding to help our kids, consumers get
affordable Internet service and Logical Net gets an
expanded customer base."
