Verio
Introduces Next Generation of Business Management Portal
for Customer Interface with Enterprise Hosting Solutions
[February 9, 2004]
ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Feb 9, 2004 (BUSINESS
WIRE) -- Verio, a subsidiary of NTT Communications Corp.
and a leading provider of global IP solutions, today
unveiled an enhanced version of its NTT/VERIO PowerPortal,
the interactive customer service portal that gives end-users
a single view of their enterprise hosting solution and
network infrastructure. Built on end-user feedback,
the new version of PowerPortal provides managed hosting
and colocation customers with a more intuitive and customizable
feature-set, including enhanced trouble ticketing, online
billing capabilities, inventory and bandwidth displays,
personalized online support and service alerts.
Implemented under the NTT/VERIO PowerPlatform
Hosting framework, PowerPortal improves efficiency by
providing customers with a highly secure, full-featured,
easy-to-use access point to their solution and delivers
a working view into the operations of their hosting
infrastructure. The offering enables customers to easily
access information, monitor the status of servers, and
inquire about specific issues, enhancing control over
business-critical information.
"Our enhanced PowerPortal offering
gives customers the peace of mind that comes with outstanding
security as well as ultimate control over functionality
of all of their applications and systems managed by
Verio," said Isabel Ehringer, president of Verio's
Enterprise Hosting business unit. "It is truly
a window into the health of their managed systems, and
a key component to the overall service management we
provide to customers."
"Forbes.com provides round-the-clock
business information news, stock quotes and interactive
tools for a worldwide community of senior business decision
makers and investors, and it is critical that we have
real-time insight into the health status of our managed
hosting and security solution," said Michael Smith,
chief technology officer for Forbes.com. "Our site
has experienced tremendous growth in terms of functionality
and the number of site visitors, and the NTT/VERIO PowerPortal
is helping Forbes.com manage that growth by providing
us with another form of interaction and support."
As the NTT/VERIO suite of solutions
continues to serve a global base of customers, Verio
has also extended PowerPortal in other countries, providing
necessary translation capabilities to international
customers with offices in North America, and is planning
to offer PowerPortal to customers in both Asia--with
NTT Communications--and Europe during the first quarter
of 2004.
The new version of NTT/VERIO PowerPortal
