Mailblocks
Continues Momentum in Q1 2004 with Record Growth and
Accolades [April 20, 2004]
Los Altos, CA—April 20, 2004—Mailblocks,
Inc. a new class of Web-based email service for consumers,
is continuing to gain momentum with subscription growth
of over 700% in Q1 of 2004. In addition to its record-breaking
quarter, Mailblocks is on track for the release of Maxwell,
its new information management tool, slated for public
availability in Q3. Maxwell—recently previewed
at the industry trade show, DEMO 2004, where it received
a DEMOgod™ award—automates two key processes
common to email: calendaring and contact management.
Further evidence of the groundswell
of enthusiastic support that Mailblocks is receiving
has been demonstrated by several recent Editor’s
Choice selections and favorable reviews in a multitude
of publications including, most recently, the April
issue of Computer Shopper and Mobile PC. Editor’s
Choice awards and reviews by industry leaders since
the beginning of 2004 include: Forbes, PC Magazine,
PC World and The Wall Street Journal. These reviews
herald Mailblocks’ key features which help consumers
more effectively manage, protect and consolidate their
email into one centralized location—the Mailblocks’
inbox.
“Mailblocks continues to innovate,
as requested by consumers who’ve now experienced
the promise of Web-based email by using Mailblocks,”
said Richard Landsman, Mailblocks’ acting CEO
and VP of Engineering. “Our mission is to improve
the Web-based email experience for all Internet users
to help consumers more effectively manage, protect and
consolidate their email and other related communications.”
Hallmarks of the Mailblocks service
are the consolidation and management of existing Yahoo!
Mail, AOL, MSN, Hotmail and POP3 accounts into one universal
inbox; the ability to send and receive mail from a user’s
hosted domain name; and email access via a super-fast,
application-like Web interface or through desktop email
applications such as Outlook, Outlook Express or Eudora.
Mailblocks 2.0 was launched January
8, 2004 with a host of new email features including
wizards, rules for email management, full contact support
and a selection of 20 domain addresses. Mailblocks’
Basic Service provides 15MB of storage for the low price
of $9.95 per year. Its Premium Service features 100MB
of storage and is aggressively priced at $24.95 per
year. Mailblocks’ new Free Service features 5MB
